11 times Stephen King absolutely obliterated Trump on social media

It's a well-known fact that the author Stephen King isn't president Donald Trump's biggest fan, and it's something that he makes extremely obvious on his social media on a very frequent basis.

The writer, who is widely credited with being fiction's "master of horror", who has penned such bestselling horror novels as It, The Shining, and Salem's Lot turned 73 on September 21.

In honour of the beloved author's endless dedication to trolling the president, we've decided to take a look back at some of his greatest putdowns of the POTUS.

1. His comeback when Trump attacked 'The Squad'

Back in July 2019, Trump took to Twitter in order to say that he didn't think that the so-called 'Squad' of four congresswomen of colour, including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, were not "capable of loving America".

In a tweet, he wrote:

In response, King pulled no punches.

He then added:

Boom! King's tweet went down well with social media users, getting over 10,000 retweets. However, the president wouldn't have seen it, as in August 2017, the president blocked King. Ouch.

2. Says Trump is 'scarier' than his books.

In July this year, King sat down with NowThis to deliver yet another admonishment of the Trump administration, suggesting that it's actually 'scarier' than his books. Ouch, coming from the "master of horror", this is a pretty withering assessment.

The short answer to that is, yes I do. I do think it’s scarier.

3. Offers 'chilling' diagnosis of Trump's mind

In 2017, King took to Twitter to suggest that Trump's choice of gif showed that he had a 'severely f****** up mind'. Just prior to his speech to the UN General Assembly in 2017, Trump shared a gif that looked like a golf ball hit by the president and striking his former election opponent, Hillary Clinton.

In a tweet about the gif, King wrote:

4. Stephen King says that Trump has 'successfully channeled America's id'

On the eve of the midterm elections, the horror author took to Twitter to lament Trump and encourage his followers to vote for the Democrats.

5. The time he slammed Ivanka, Trump, and Michael Whitaker in one brutal tweet

In November 2018, King made his thoughts known about Trump, Ivanka, and Whitaker in one brutal tweet. And it has to be said that he absolutely didn't hold back. Taking to the platform, the 71-year-old author weighed into several different topics and issued what can only be described as a withering takedown of the president.

In a tweet, he wrote:

6. Calls Trump 'blabbermouth Don'. Multiple, multiple, times.

As an acclaimed author, you'd presume King could come up with a better insult than 'blabbermouth Don' but he seems to really like it and has called Trump by the unflattering nickname at least four times.

7. Highlights how anyone who calls themselves a genius straight up isn't one

You won't need reminding of the time that Trump called himself a 'very stable genius' but as King pointed out, anyone who says something like that might not be a genius.

8. Getting the perfect revenge on Trump for when he blocked him on Twitter.

In 2017, Trump got fed up of King's constant nagging on Twitter, so he decided to block him. However, King still managed to have the last laugh. In a tweet, he wrote:

9. Taking a pop at Trump's geography knowledge

Trump's understanding of global geography is famously bad but surely even he wouldn't claim that 'denial' is a river in Egypt like King claimed he would.

10. When he hinted at a new Omen movie

The Omen, a story of a demonic young boy, is actually one of the great horror movies not to be written by Stephen King but that doesn't mean that he can't dream of seeing a new addition to the series set in the age of the 45th president.

11. Giving Trump a brand new job

One of King's latest pieces of mockery of Trump was just a few days ago when the writer said that the POTUS wasn't a president but a trash fire

Ah, well, looks like there's no love lost between the two...
