England have regained the Ashes with one Test to spare after beating Australia by an innings and 78 runs at Trent Bridge.
The foundations for the spectacular win were laid two days ago when a Stuart Broad-inspired England decimated the Aussies, bowling the tourists out for just 60 runs in the first innings.
The start of the series had been overshadowed in part by Kevin Pietersen's continued exclusion and some doubts over Alastair Cook's captaincy.
The leader of the Pietersen fan club and one of Cook's most outspoken detractors was Piers Morgan, who back on June 3 tweeted:
