Wayne Rooney had been having a pretty good week.
On Saturday he scored a free-kick against Stoke to overtake Sir Bobby Charlton and become Manchester United’s all-time record goal-scorer.
Then on Thursday night, United beat Hull 3-2 on aggregate to go through to the final of the EFL Cup.

After the Hull game, Rooney took to Twitter to thank the United fans for their support.
Have to say our fans tonight was unbelievable
Yeah, there’s a typo in his tweet. But there’s no need to point it out like this fan did.
Does Rooney have any GCSEs seriously?
But Wayne’s response was perfect.
No I don't
Yes, Rooney doesn’t have any GCSEs – he was making his debut for Everton’s first team at the age most kids take them.
But who needs GCSEs, when you’ve got five Premier League winner medals, a Champion’s League medal, an FA Cup medal, two League Cup medals, a Club World Cup Medal, a PFA Player of the Year award, a Football Writer’s Footballer of the Year award, 119 England caps, the England captaincy, and are the all-time record top scorers for both Manchester United and England?
And to be fair, the United fan seemed pretty happy with Rooney's response.
Seriously though kids. Stay in school. Not everyone is Wayne Rooney.
