Why you should never, ever celebrate too early, in one video

This is Tanguy Pepiot. Here he is in the closing seconds of the men's 3000m steeplechase at an athletics meet in Eugene, Oregon, this week.

The University of Oregon athlete thinks he's going to win, so he starts celebrating.

But Meron Simon, from the University of Washington, has other ideas.

And Pepiot learns a valuable lesson after losing by a tenth of a second.

Simon told the Oregonian afterwards: "I thought he had me. I thought he was so far ahead.

"Then I heard the crowd get crazy. And then he started throwing his hands up, and I thought 'I don't think he knows I'm coming'."
