Age means you're less certain if a baboon or badger would win in a fight

Age may bring you wisdom, but it also means you become less confident in assessing the fighting skills of badgers and baboons.

That’s according to YouGov who this week asked 2,107 British adults who they thought was most likely to win in a contest between the two animals. (They tell us the idea for the poll came up in their weekly meeting and staff decided to go for it - a decision we stand up on our desks and salute.)

Of those polled who were over 60, 26 per cent said they did not know - compared to just 14 per cent of 18-24 year olds.

Where you live also depends on your stance, with 68 per cent of Scotland calling the fight for the baboon - compared to just 57 per cent of people in the Midlands/Wales.

Those intending to vote Ukip are also more likely to root for the badger, while Lib Dem voters are more likely to go for the baboon than Conservatives.

Overall, the message is clear: Britain believes a baboon would absolutely destroy a badger in a fair fight.

Massive H/T to Popbitch who flagged up the poll in their weekly email and have been pushing for a definitive answer to the badger or baboon question for years.
