Asked to finish the sentences of some of the most famous proverbs in the English language, or perhaps tasked with making her own, this child came up with some superb alternatives...

Known only as Bela, the child finished "Don't count your chickens..." with the wonderful "...because they need privacy", and "When the cat's away..." with the slightly menacing "...you will pay".

Sharing the post on Reddit, user Haggysack noted: "One of my friends just sent me her kid's homework. After the answer at the bottom, I realise this kid is going places."

According to Bela, all work and no play makes Jack "happy" and people in glass houses "are rich".

She also imparted some stellar wisdom by telling us not to put all our eggs "in there" (presumably she means one basket).
