The US Coast Guard had to rescue a man attempting to cross part of the Atlantic Ocean in a giant inflatable bubble because he was suffering from fatigue.

Reza Baluchi had been attempting a 1,033 mile trip to reach Bermuda from the US mainland in a zorb-like vehicle but was picked up by the coastguard on Saturday morning.

He was said to be found disorientated and asking how to get to Bermuda.

The endurance athlete had been hoping to raise money for “children in need” and “to… inspire those that have lost hope for a better future” according to his website.
