Couple divide opinion after sending note to chef explaining how to prepare their meal

A couple in the United States have caused outrage after they showed up at a restaurant with instructions for the chef on how to cook their meal.

In a post shared on the Facebook page ‘Don’t F With Your Server’ a couple named Alan and Karen (yes, I know, too good to be true) with a six-step guide on how to prepare their burgers which they were ordering for take-out.

To cut a long story short they literally wanted every part of the meal to be placed in separate containers. That means buns, burger patties (made as rare as possible), vegetables, cheese, fries and sauces were all supposed to be separated from each other.

Of course, things like fries would always come in separate containers for a take-away meal but to demand that everything is separated almost defeats the idea of ordering a burger in the first place.

The note was apparently shared by one of the staff members and admitted that they ‘don’t usually post, but this I couldn’t resist.’

The post has since been bombarded with hundreds of comments from people who just couldn’t believe that the couple would have the audacity to tell a restaurant how to prepare their meal.

One person wrote: “Wait are they going to assemble this all at home for guests and pretend they cooked it.”

Another added: “Stay home! And cook it yourself!”

A third person said: “LOL!!!!! My restaurant would say no. We don’t waste to go containers on stupidity.”

Some also shared similar experiences: “I had this guy that used to come in to my job and I s**t you not he printed business cards with these ridiculous modifications. To a salad,” said one person.

“I used to have a guy that would give his server a note to give to me on how to make his Bombay up martini. Every Friday for two years,“ added another.

However, some people defended the couple, feeling that the couple might have had some legitimate reasons for demanding the food be placed in separate containers.

One person said: “They might be travelling some distance with their food. They will probably put the meat and the fries in a thermal warming bag. I would accept the compliment that they chose your restaurant for their road trip meal.”
