Donald Trump supporters appear to be using this hilariously stupid meme to support Putin - or something

In the wake of his attacks on Hillary Clinton for being a woman, supporters of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump have been sharing a meme about European defence ministers.

It's been posted as an apparent warning to European states about the refugee crisis and border control, as if it's any of the US presidential candidate's business.

As you'd expect, it is suitably bigoted and stupid.

The above image shows, from left to right, Norwegian minister of defence Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, the former Swedish minister of defence Karin Enström, Dutch minister of defence Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert and German minister of defence Ursula von der Leyen.

The man in the bottom half of the image is the defence minister of Russia, Sergey Shoygu.

The top image is out of date, as the current defence minister of Sweden is Peter Hultqvist, who has held the office since 3 October 2014.

Regardless, the gender of defence ministers has no bearing on how effective they are at their job.

Which also has very little to do with immigration - the domain of the interior ministries.

It's also ignoring the fact that Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany are part of the EU's no-borders Schengen zone, and Russia isn't even part of the EU, and can therefore dictate immigration policy as it pleases.

So, yeah, 0/10 marks for the bigots, try again.
