More than 300 million people suffer from depression, the World Health Organisation reports.

Coping with its ill affects – be they physical, mental or a dark combination of the two – can often be difficult on your own.

Imgur user @Hypn0ph0bia shared what appears to be a text message exchange between someone who messaged “a 24 hour pasta hotline” instead of a crisis number.

Rather than brushing them off, the company representative did something else: they showed the person a little bit of kindness.

When the person realised they got the wrong number, they used a pasta-metaphor to ask for advice.

The worker ran with it.

The exchange was lovely.

If I was the manager I would give that woman a raise. That company now has a pasta fan for life.

As someone going through the same struggle right now, this makes me feel a little bit better.
