A wise man named Mick Jagger once sang, "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you get what you need".

That fact was made abundantly clear during a rather hilarious Twitter thread this week.

Twitter user Rory shared that he and a guy named Nick were in Bankers Draft Wetherspoons celebrating Nick's birthday. Posting a picture of the pair, he asked the kind folks of the internet to be generous.

You see, thanks to a mobile app created by the pub chain, you can order dishes and drinks to your table and pay without ever getting up and going to the bar.

So that's exactly what Twitter users started to do.

It turns out the internet was not as kind as Nick has originally hoped, they first received a non-alcoholic beer.

Then a glass of milk... At least, we hope it's milk.

At least you could make White Russian cocktails?

Then a dessert popped up.

And some fizz, top work.

Then the pea and gravy course arrived.

The orders just kept coming.

Please remember to tip your waiting staff.
