What colours do you think of when you hear the words 'Christmas tree?'
There is the very traditional green, which never failed anyone. Then you have the rather garish white and the trendy black tree.
Melania Trump obviously subscribes to a different school of thinking in the Christmas tree aesthetic department and has gone for something more befitting of her husband's recent policies.
Red trees probably sound like a nice idea on paper but, in practice, they look like something from a horror movie, especially when they aren't decorated whatsoever and look stalagmites made out of blood.
Melania shared her creations with the world on Twitter on Monday afternoon and they immediately became prime material for jokes and memes.
Decorator: Okay, so we want to avoid looking like the entrance to the White Witch's Narnian castle like we did last… https://t.co/3fITEMVyty— Lethality Jane (@Lethality Jane) 1543250425
AIDE: There’s this perception you don’t care about children, so we need to— MELANIA: Get me the blood-red nightmar… https://t.co/K8fGFq1J1o— Jason O. Gilbert (@Jason O. Gilbert) 1543259179
For many people, it reminded them of the classic horror film The Shining.
I think Melania Trump’s Christmas decor choices might be a cry for help. https://t.co/LupbOJTogS— Kaz Weida (@Kaz Weida) 1543260737
Perhaps The Handmaid's Tale references were more appropriate.

It's even more disconcerting without music.

A few simple additions would make all the difference, Melania.

We've noticed that Melania's White House trees are becoming something of a viral trend so we can't wait to see what she comes up with next year.
