Anybody who enjoys will know that the fibre strings that often cling to the fruit after the skin has been removed is not the nicest part of the banana at all.

It often has a weird texture, is crunchy and gets stuck in your teeth, tormenting you for hours as you try to get it out.

Many would have been forgiven for thinking that this was just a human trait and animals wouldn't happily chow down on the banana regardless of how it tasted.

Well, how wrong we were as video evidence has shown that a monkey definitely doesn't like the fibre as it removes it from the fruit before giving it to its child.

The video was shared on TikTok by the user J Lathosa and has already been viewed more than 3.5 million times on the platform.

The short clip has since ended up on Twitter where it has been viewed more than 8 million times and people aren't quite sure how to process this information.

Darwin's 'Theory of Evolution' just got taken to another level...
