Politicians are using the election campaign as an excuse to have fun

Exhibit A:

George Osborne meeting apprentices at Hawkins garage near St Austell, in Cornwall today.

Just look at his face.

Exhibit B:

Nick Clegg ended a hard day campaigning with a quick go on the zip-wire at Go Ape near Exeter.

Five more years!

Exhibit C:

David Cameron supposedly took a break from the campaign trail on Easter Sunday to feed this orphaned lamb on a farm in Chadlington.

Cute!

Super cute!

OK, too much.

Exhibit D:

Nigel Farage hung out with Joey Essex in Grimsby.

On a boat.

Case closed no further questions.

Meanwhile, don't be surprised not to see Ed Miliband in this article. After coming off worse in a tussle with a bacon sandwich, the Labour leader said last year:

If you want a politician who thinks that a good photo is the most important thing, then don't vote for me. Because I don’t.

Here’s the thing: I believe that people would quite like somebody to stand up and say there is more to politics than the photo-op. And that culture diminishes our politics.

This was the closest we could find to Miliband letting his hair down during the campaign, although he did arguably give the most fun interview earlier this month.
