Presenting the strangest description of gay sex, possibly ever

Sometimes similes can be a helpful way to understand and describe the world around us - it can rain like cats and dogs, be as hot as hell, or as easy as ABC.

But sometimes they are simply baffling: take the case of Reverend John Riccardo, who reportedly told a Welcoming and Accompanying Our Brothers and Sisters with Same Sex Attraction conference aimed at supporting celibacy among homosexual Catholics that gay sex is like sticking a bagel in your ear.

He was quoted by the Detroit Free Press as telling the conference that he often expands this into a complicated analogy to explain gay sex to teenagers, telling them: "What if I just rip open a bagel, I take it, and I cram it in my ear. What would you say?"

When children say they would tell him bagels don't go there, Riccardo says that it is similar to gay sex, adding: "That will ruin your ear canal."

Riccardo added that it was important the Catholic church welcomes gay people despite disapproving of their sexuality, saying: "If we don’t find a way to do that, then we’re going to have a ghetto and put walls around us and no one is going to come in."
