There’s a new sexist symbol in town: A mug.
The mug in question is technically two mugs, joined together, one with the name Jennifer and one with Chris. But never mind the impracticalities of drinking from mugs designed to fit together, it's more serious than that.
Chris is a full mug shape, while Jennifer's is squashed into a half moon. It’s manspreading in china form.
And people are calling it out as sexist.
@janinebrito Coffee gender gap, sexism has reached a new level.— Moeez (@Moeez) 1491866998
They're calling it the new wage gap:
@janinebrito @MikeDrucker It's the Patriarchy! Women only get 79% of the coffee a man drinks.— Paul Buffano (@Paul Buffano) 1491866617
It's a hindrance to the glass ceiling:
@janinebrito @MikeDrucker You can't break that glass ceiling if you don't have the energy needed to get out of bed #TheMasterPlan— Paul Buffano (@Paul Buffano) 1491866781
Some people got lost in the detail, and missed the bigger picture:
@janinebrito @Mumbler3 And how is Jennifer supposed to drink out that bastard thing?— Margaret Brown (@Margaret Brown) 1491903403
Some saw the positive side:
@janinebrito Best case scenario- Jennifer has a huge chin which makes drinking hard and Chris is making light of it… https://t.co/QEn6idI7oO— Ian Potter (@Ian Potter) 1491902548
