The most incredible list of people have been barred from this pub in south London

The Half Moon Pub in Herne Hill has a very eclectic crowd, if its list of barred customers is anything to go by.

The list was tweeted by singer-songwriter Rumer, while discussing the plans for the south London pub's renovation.

It reads brilliantly - just imagine this crowd:

A Guy Ritchie film is missing a few minor characters, and the Half Moon is where to find them.

Our personal favourites are "Danny Miller/Danny Partridge (He's back and fat)" and "Vitriolic Queen... 'oohh it's not Hoxton'".

And "Crazy Linda".

And "Gus and his mate Mark".

And "Mickey Two Suits".

Ok all of them. As a collective of mysteries you are all sublime.

A brief survey of the campaign group reveals a little about these people - 'One armed Keith' fell on the railway line at Herne Hill station, which is how he lost his arm - or so the legend goes. Apparently he's been barred from every pub in Herne Hill at one time or other and is a good game of pool.

The pub is currently being redeveloped by Fuller’s brewery, who plan to reopen the Half Moon, but not as a music venue, seeing a focus on food as more financially viable.

The plans are subject to a campaign to save live music at the pub, which has previously hosted the likes of U2, Frank Sinatra, Eric Clapton and The Police, which has been backed by Grammy Award winner La Roux who launched her career there as a 17-year-old:

The pub is the centre of Herne Hill. The building is old and beautiful and has been an important place to many young musicians across south London.

A spokesperson for Fuller’s said:

There were no applications to run The Half Moon as a serious live music offer. We are delighted the pub has come to a company that will bring it back to the heart of Herne Hill. We remain in regular dialogue with the campaign.

The pub is expected to reopen in the autumn.

The campaign group have meanwhile joked about reforming the crowd from the barred list for Fuller's opening, should they prohibit live music.

The Half Moon has been contacted for comment by indy100.
