Looking for love? Here are the places where everyone else is too. Match.com has analysed its users and pinpointed the 20 places in Britain home to the highest number of single people in proportion to their populations.

A note on the data: Match.com analysed all users of its app and site during the weekend of 3 and 4 January - the busiest one of the year for online dating - to make the list. More than 500 towns and cities from across Britain were examined and any town with fewer than 50 active users was removed from the dataset. According to Match.com, West Malling in Kent and Northallerton in North Yorkshire both have eight times as many daters per 1,000 people than London. Of course, this is only Match.com users, so it could be that single Londoners are just more likely to use other dating services.
