Ed Miliband may have belatedly found himself the object of teenage affections everywhere during the last general election, but chances are your parents wouldn't be too happy if you bought him home - a new YouGov survey has found that politicians are the people our parents want for sons- and daughters-in-law the least.
Via: StatistaWhereas doctors, teachers and lawyers were top of the list, the number of people who ranked being a member of parliament as the most desirable occupation for the significant other of their offspring was just one per cent for a daughter-in-law and zero per cent for a son-in-law.
Actors and models didn't fare so well either at 2.5 per cent and 1.5 per cent as an average respectively, but it was MPs who finished in last place.
Oh well. On the off chance your kids do bring an MP home as their intended, at least the salary and expenses are decent.
