Just two weeks ago, eighteen White House Republicans signed a letter nominating President Trump for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.

His efforts to conciliate North and South Korea were cited as official justification for the nomination, although experts have debated the extent to which he deserves credit for last month's Peace Treaty signing.

In the letter, Congress member Luke Messer goes on to state:

President Trump's peace through strength policies are working and bringing peace to the Korean Peninsula.

We can think of no one more deserving of the Committee's recognition in 2019 than President Trump for his tireless work to bring peace to our world.

But now, it seems Trump has changed his mind.

Last night, the President sent a strongly worded letter detailing the cancellation of a scheduled upcoming meeting in Singapore.

His reasoning is based on the "tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in [North Korea's] most recent statement", a claim which prefaces a series of bizarre boasts about America's nuclear power:

You talk about your nuclear capabilities, but ours are so massive and powerful that I pray to God they will never have to be used.

These veiled threats aren't exactly indicative of a man advocating for global peace - a fact Twitter users have picked up on, using the letter to call his Nobel Peace Prize nomination into question and, essentially, troll the President once again.
