It's no secret that during Cynthia Nixon's bid to become Governor of New York, she's been at the receiving end of a lot of seriously low punches.

In recent weeks, the 52-year-old New York gubernatorial candidate Nixon, who openly identifies as queer, has been upping her campaign for office, addressing supporters at a number of canvassing events, in a bid to defeat the incumbent 60-year-old Andrew Cuomo in the state's Democratic Primary on Thursday.

However, her opponents haven't always played nice during the campaign. In March, former NYC council speaker Christine Quinn told the New York Times that Nixon was an 'unqualified lesbian'; her Democratic opponent Andrew Cuomo repeatedly called her 'a corporation' during a primary debate at the end of August; and she's been called 'unhinged' on multiple occasions by Cuomo staffers in attacks that were called 'sexist' by enraged Nixon supporters and Twitter users.

Taking to Twitter on Friday, Nixon laid bare the bigoted abusive comments she's had to deal with during her election campaign:

During this campaign, I've been called:

"An unqualified lesbian"

"A corporation"

"Unhinged"

I wasn't born the son of a Governor. I was born the daughter of a single mom and grew up in a one-bedroom, fifth-floor walk-up apartment.

And my name is Cynthia.

BOOM.

In one fell swoop, Nixon highlights the many privileges that her competitor has had, that she has not had, to help her get to where she is today. Further, she highlights how ludicrous the personal insults aimed at her character really are.

Many on Twitter were quick to praise her sentiment.

This isn't the first time she's totally destroyed her trolls on Twitter.

When she was originally called an 'unqualified lesbian', Nixon again illustrated her poise, professionalism and wit.

Taking to Twitter, she wrote:

When I announced yesterday that I’m running for gov, one of Cuomo’s top surrogates dismissed me as an “unqualified lesbian.”

It’s true that I never received my certificate from the Department of Lesbian Affairs, though in my defense there’s a lot of paperwork required.

Queen Cynthia, we salute you.
