White supremacist Richard Spencer’s National Policy Institute (NPI) “think tank” lost its tax exempt status last week.

The group is renowned for its members participating in Nazi salutes and they coined the term “alt-right”.

In November, there were reports that a speaker at an NPI event quoted Nazi propaganda and said the media protects Jewish interests.

Leader Richard Spencer recently had a verbal scuffle with Bloomberg View Columnist Eli Lake.

The journalist had tweeted a link to a story about Western unity and how believes a unified Europe can defeat Russian foreign policy strategy.

Spencer, unable to help himself, tweeted a response, asking who the “we” is:

It started calmly enough...

Talking Points Memo editor Josh Marshall eventually waded in...

Spencer's comeback was lacking...

Marshall appeared to grow bored, and told Spencer to "go back to the 1930s":

To which Spencer responded by linking to a song, often mistaken for a Nazi anthem, Cabaret’s Tomorrow Belongs To Me:

And then in comes Jason Kander, CNN contributor and the nephew of composer John Kander:

Hey buddy, that song you love was written by my uncle.

He's been married to my other uncle for 40 years.

And he's a Jew.
