A right-wing activist who was wearing a swastika necklace in the middle of Union Square, Manhattan, has been pelted with eggs by a bystander.

The man wearing the swastika has been identified as 26-year-old Jovanni Valle, a renowned Trump supporter who has attended far-right and white nationalist rallies.

In the clip, which was shared on Twitter on Wednesday, Valle is wearing a suit and flat cap, with a large swastika medallion around his neck and carrying a large red flag, which is unidentifiable from the footage.

Valle speaks to several individuals off camera about a previous attack where someone threw coffee at him before an inconspicuous man behind him takes an egg from a bag and cracks it on his head.

Before he was hit by the egg, Valle is alleged to have been shouting anti-LGBT+ rhetoric, claiming that being gay causes mental illness.

Homosexuality was due to a chemical imbalance.

It's hurting children because children grow up mentally ill not knowing who they are.

The video, which was uploaded by Twitter user @idkbrosorry, has since been viewed more than 800,000 times and shared more than 12,000 times, with people thoroughly appreciating the Nazi being put in his place.

Valle is no stranger to these type of incidents. In July 2018, he reportedly suffered a broken nose and a slash to the face after a brawl in a bar in the Lower East Side of New York City, which was provoked by his MAGA hat, which fell off of his head and was stamped on by a woman.

The couple responsible for the attack were charged with assault but released without bail, with Valle also being arrested for a misdemeanour assault.

This is far from the first time this year that a right-wing figurehead has been publicly egged because of their views. In March, the Australian senator, Fraser Anning had an egg cracked on his head by a teenage boy following his comments about Muslims in the wake of the Christchurch mosque shooting.
