YouGov has asked London's Tube riders what they think of the capital's nerve system.

Coming out on top is the east-west running Jubilee line.

1651 adults in London, were asked 'Generally speaking do you like or dislike each of the following lines?'.

They then chose from the options:

  • generally like
  • generally dislike
  • neither like nor dislike
  • don't know
  • not applicable

From these scores, a net ranking was made for thirteen lines.

The Jubilee line, and the Docklands Light Railway both received a net score of 44, but Jubille came out top on its score for 'Generally like' (51 to 50 per cent), and the two routes were tied on 6 per cent, 'Generally dislike'.

The Jubilee and the DLR are two of the newest Tube lines, opening in 1979 and 1987 respectively.

By contrast, two of the oldest lines, the Central (1900) and Northern (1890) received the lowest net scores, and some the highest scores for 'Generally dislike'.

A section of the Underground which is now a part of Northern Line was the first to use electric traction trains
