Corruption rose in 2016, and no country came close to a perfect score in the Corruption Perceptions Index 2016.

The annual index by Transparency International found that over two thirds of the 176 countries in the index fell below the midpoint in the scale, running from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean).

The global average score was 43.

The UK ranked joint 10th, with a score of 81, no change from 2015.
