Wanda Sykes explains exactly what Trump's 'Obamagate' is actually about

It's the start of a new week in the United States of America and the president has only one subject on his mind.

Yep, you've guessed it: "Obamagate"

The president has become so obsessed with this baseless conspiracy theory, which coincidentally has arisen during the middle of pandemic which has killed more Americans than any other nation in the world, that Trump now has it as his pinned tweet. Nice to know that he has his priorities in order.

So far Trump is yet to actually explain what "Obamagate" actually is beyond it being a thinly veiled belief that Barack Obama tried to sabotage's Trump's 2016 election campaign and somehow managed to prompt an investigation into the president's supposed dealings with Russian officials.

Of course, that is only speculation and it is all we really have to go on right now but if Obama is brought in for questioning then we'll be willing to forgive Trump, just this once.

However, in an attempt to perhaps enlighten everyone, comedian, actor, and writer Wanda Sykes, best known for her roles in Curb Your Enthusiasm and Black-ish posted a video on Instagram, detailing exactly what it is all about.

The 56-year-old star said:

I'm sure a lot of you are asking 'what is this Obamagate?' Well, let me explain it to you.

So, in 2008, Barack Obama won the presidential election and he was black.

He served two terms and today he is still black.

So there you have it. Obamagate is some old bulls**t.

Obviouly we can't confirm if this is the actual explanation behind Obamagate. After all, it's probably got a certain amount to do with Trump's re-election campaign and a need to distract from coronavirus. But the Obamas have endured endless racism ever since they entered the political spotlight, so this is certainly one of best interpretations we have heard so far.
