A teenage Tom Hanks' hopeful letter to producers shows it never hurts to be bold

As a teenager, Tom Hanks had no idea that he would one day become a highly successful Hollywood actor, but he definitely had the ambition.

It has emerged that the Big actor sent a letter as a student to a high-powered Hollywood executive to assure him if the studio took a chance on him they wouldn’t regret it.

In the letter, which is now on display at the Library of the Motion Picture Academy in Beverly Hills, he wrote:

My looks are not stunning. I am not built like a Greek God, and I can’t even grow a moustache, but I figure if people will pay to see certain films… they will pay to see me.
