Angelina Jolie expertly redirected a question about her relationships without hesitation.
Only one brave individual dared to ask about her alleged connection with music artist The Weeknd. Jolie is on a long publicity tour for her debut feature in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Eternals which eventually hits theatres next month.
On Monday, host Justin Sylvester subtly asked co-star Salma Hayek if her children were “more excited” about her new film “or that you are friends with The Weeknd” during an appearance for E’s “Daily Pop!”
Dodging the question instantly a smiling Jolie, instead placed the focus on the new film she was there to promote while glancing over to Hayek.
”They’re very excited about this film if that’s what you’re asking,” she said, before reiterating the phrase, “They’re very excited about this film.”
In recent months, Jolie and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye) have been photographed out and about on many dinner outings, prompting speculation that the two are dating.
In June, the two were originally linked after leaving a high-end Italian restaurant in Los Angeles where they apparently dined together for hours. A source told Page Six that it was a professional meeting and that they weren’t trying to be discreet during that time.

“He’s definitely focused on getting to the movie business. He has the new HBO series he’s starring in,” the source said.
The Weeknd is slated to write, executive produce and star in an upcoming series called The Idol, which chronicles a pop singer who becomes romantically linked to a cult leader. He also worked alongside Adam Sandler in the 2019 film Uncut Gems.
However, Jolie and the R&B/Pop singer saw each other on other occasions, such as going to a private concert, Jolie’s children in hand. Then, last month they were seen at the same Italian restaurant alone.
Fans assumed Jolie was finally embarking on her first new romance since parting with ex-husband Brad Pitt nearly five years ago, despite appearing to not have previous ties.
However, the actress is keeping quiet about her personal life as her divorce and custody fight with Pitt continues.
Speaking to The Guardian last month, Jolie said that she wants her “family to heal.”
“I want everyone to move forward ― all of us, including their dad...We’ll always be a family,” she told the outlet.
