If you missed it, President Donald Trump went on a Twitter rant on Saturday.

It is thought the President did so in response to explosive claims in Michael Wolff's latest book where he offers a caricature of Trump as an "idiot surrounded by clowns".

The book quotes former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon describing meetings between Donald Trump Jr. and Russians during the 2016 campaign as "treasonous" and "unpatriotic".

The book also casts aspersions on Mr Trump's mental faculties and suitability for the role of President.

On Saturday, the President tweeted a string of tweets about his intelligence, Russia and his former opponent Hillary Clinton:

Trump overlooked that he ran in 2000, clearly.

Among those roasting the President for his tweet spree, and there were many, was writer, comedian, and actor Mindy Kaling:

A number of different accounts then tweeted screengrabs claiming that the official Twitter account of the United States Army had liked the tweet from Kaling:

What a state of affairs.
