“Articulate” and “great communicator,” probably aren’t the first phrases you’d use to describe Donald Trump.

But he’s just beat his own record for spouting mind-bending, headache-inducing nonsense.

Talking about his time with president Xi of China, Trump said:

I think he wants to help us with North Korea. We talked  trade, we talked a lot of things, and I said, 'The way you’re going to make a good trade deal is to help us with North Korea, otherwise were just going to go at it alone'.

That’ll be alright too. But going at it alone means going at it with lots of other nations.

Honestly.

In the greatest example of doublespeak yet, the president of the United States said that going at it alone means working with other people.

George Orwell, you've done it again.

Here's video proof, because we know it sounds quite unbelievable.

And people had some great responses:

More: Donald Trump's geographical knowledge of the Middle East is absolutely terrifying

More: One man's campaign to 'Make Trump Furious' could overturn a seat held by Republicans for 43 years
