In an astonishing turn of events, Donald Trump’s former political advisor will speak at a strip club in Virginia after an indictment probe following the Robert Mueller investigation.
Roger Stone is set to appear in court in November on several counts relating to his alleged communications with WikiLeaks during the 2016 elections.
The 66-year-old pled not guilty and was released on a $250,000 (£192,566) bond. Combined with his lawyer fees, he said, he’s essentially bankrupt.
However before that happens, he will be appearing at a strip club in Richmond, Virginia next month where he is scheduled to deliver a paid speech. No, really.
Stone will be at the Paper Moon and will be joining Kristin Davis, also known as the ‘Manhattan Madam’ who was questioned last year over Russian interference in the US election, the Daily Beast reports. She became famous for running a New York prostitution ring.
Paper Moon's projects director Mike Dickinson helped book Stone, and though he declines to reveal how much the former advisor will be getting paid, he told the Daily Beast it will be “a nice amount”.
Local activists are protesting his talk and worry that he will bring with him the Proud Boys, a far-right group who often accompanies him to events.
