Twitter is often rife with depressing tales of everyday sexism and harassment experienced by women everywhere, from public transport to the workplace.

To address the negativity and attempt to derive some positive lessons from the upsetting behaviour people report, twitter user Feminist Next Door asked her male followers an interesting question:

Many of the responses she received from both men and women - often recounting harrowing scenarios - were superb, heartening in their decency and sometimes even outright heroic.
