You cannot be having a worse National Poetry Day than this man

Conservative minister Matt Hancock has apologised after accidentally retweeting a limerick which stated the Labour Party was "full of queers".

Business minister Mr Hancock had been engaging in some good natured teasing on Twitter, swapping disparaging limericks with former Labour special adviser David Mills in honour of National Poetry Day, when he retweeted the slur.

The retweet, which has since been deleted.
