According to research by the National Trust, Brits are increasingly falling out of love with our own coastline.
Family visits to the seaside have fallen by 20 per cent since 2005 and more than half of all adults have not been to the beach once in the last year, although a YouGov survey of more than 9,000 people found that 88 per cent of us still see our coastline as a "national treasure".
