Selfies were was once considered a bit of a vain trend - enjoyed by people on Myspace or owners of polaroid cameras.

Now though; even your grand parents are familiar with the forward facing camera, and you'd find it pretty difficult to avoid a selfie while scrolling through Twitter or Instagram.

One YouTuber however, has taken the humble pitcure trend to the next level.

Hugo Cornellier has been documenting his own ageing process since he was 12-years-old.

His first video was uploaded to YouTube way back in 2009, and was a simple compilation of selfies for 300 days straight.

Since then he has been taking selfies every day since he was 12 years old, and uploading the results every year.

His latest video sees him morph from a fresh faced 12-year-old to a handsome 20 something on his wedding day, all in under 3 minutes.

It reminds us of the film Boyhood but much shorter and with less indie music.

During a Reddit ama session last year, Hugo was asked what his ultimate goal is to which he replied:

Overall to have a record of my life to be able to look back on when I'm old. It'll be crazy to be able to show my kids this video.

He also plans to carry on doing this for a very long time.

I plan on continuing until I am physically unable to continue. I don't see any reason why I would ever stop.

Seeing my whole life flash in front of my eyes will be so fascinating once I'm older.
