By default, most of us are quite trusting. If it sounds sciency in an advert or a dietician said it was good for us, odds are we'll believe it.

But, we shouldn't - because some of the things we're told simply aren't true dammit.

People have taken to reddit to shed light on the biggest lies they think are out there. Take note.

1. That dead hair can come to life

2. That proposing means you have to be broke

3. Magic vegetables

4. That you must have breakfast, and avoid good fats

5. That you eat spiders

6. That you need a new mattress

7. That milk is liquid gold
