Four out of five people will actually speak to their neighbours this Christmas

A recent survey of 1,170 people by Ipsos-MORI for The Challenge has shown that nearly four out of five people will speak to their neighbours over Christmas.

In addition 69 per cent said they spoke to their neighbours all year round.

Eighty nine per cent of people aged 55-75 years old were likely to speak to neighbours over christmas, compared to 67 per cent of 16-24 year olds.

Seventy one per cent said that they were likely to speak to neighbours of a different age.
