It's 2019 and the putting-a-bank-note-on-the-floor-but-attached-to-string-for-lols joke is officially no longer relevant.
Instead, art director and all-round evil genius Pablo Rochat printed out stickers to look like AirpPods and stuck them around San Francisco because confusing super-rich tech wizards is fun.
He also posted a link to the template, so everyone could download their own stickers and do the same in cities around the world, which is very generous of him.
Most people were highly amused.
Although some who have clearly never heard of antibacterial products couldn't wrap their heads around why anyone would even want second hand AirPods... which retail at between $159 and $249 (and the same in British pounds).
