The internet is confused about Amazon's very NSFW tweet of an ironing board

A picture paints a thousand words, so when advertisers are limited to 140 characters they often rely on pictures to help boost sales.

When internet shopping giants Amazon tweeted a fairly standard line of "New Deals, Every Day" they accompanied it with a picture of what they claim is an 'ironing board'.

They were very insistent that it was an ironing board cover.

The internet however, had other ideas.

Responses ranged from bewilderment to shock to scepticism.

It's certainly one way to generate buzz about a product.
