The UK is the tenth most likely country in Europe to believe there is no God, spirit or life force.
The data, from the European Commission, found that France was the most atheistic country of those surveyed, whereas Romania was the least.

In France 40 per cent said they did not believe in any sort of spirit, God or life force.
In the UK, 25 per cent of people don't believe in any sort of spirit, God or life force, 33 per cent believe in some sort of spirit or life force, while 37 per cent believe in a God.
Malta was the most god-fearing country alongside Turkey, with 94 per cent in each country believing in a God.
The most unsure country was Luxembourg, where 8 per cent said they did not know.
