It's that time of the year, where the magic of the festive season has worn off and the comedown from excessive food, booze and family time hits us all hard.

As most people head back to work after a nice stretch of time off today, the internet has of course reacted in the best possible way. With a trending hashtag here to serve you jokes, memes and highly relatable observations.

Some people were worried they'd actually forgotten how to be at work.

Others noted the weird awkwardness of seeing colleagues again after time off.

Some had scathing points on the nature of capitalism and work inequality.

And a reminder that not everywhere in the world subscribes to an intense work regime.

Some good news though: thanks to a calendar quirk, it should only be a nice little two-day week for those blessed with weekends off, so it's really not for another four days that we need to worry about *really* being back at work.
