An activist brand has created a ‘F**k Kavanaugh' lipstick in an effort to raise money and awareness for sexual assault victim charities following accusations made against US Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
The liquid lipstick, made by Lipslut, comes in a bright red colour and, until 7 October, all proceeds from the pre-order will be donated to organisations that will be "chosen by the people" via a vote.
This isn’t the first time Lipslut has dipped into politics. The organisation raised more than $100,000 with its F**k Trump lipstick to oppose the US president’s immigration policy, which resulted in hundreds of families being separated.
The company founder, Katie Sones, told Bustle that the shade is deliberate.
The resounding winner was a dark red. After seeing Kavanaugh's hotheadedness at the hearing, we thought a 'calm, cool, and collected' shade would be fitting. Imagine a cool-toned maroon.
Sones added: “While watching the hearing and the events leading up to it, I got so upset seeing women's voices being ignored, doubted, and flat-out denied.”
If the highest levels of government won't listen to us, who will? To me, this entire mess serves as a microcosm for how thousands of women's experiences and traumas are treated everyday — we had to act.
You can get both the F**k Trump and F**k Kavanaugh lipsticks on the website.
