Sleighbells ring, are you listening? In the lane, dough is sizzling.

Domino's is going to use reindeer to deliver pizza.

Already making headlines for delivering via drones and bots, Domino's Japan has paired up with the Hokkaido Delivery Integrated Research Centre to attempt to retrain reindeer for the role of 'Pizza Delivery Guy'.

Their press release states that they hope the reindeer will be ready to pull the pizza sleigh by 1 December, just in time for Christmas.

And just in case you thought the press release was a prank, they've also shared this earnest eight-page PDF action plan.

They have flowcharts, it's serious.

According to plans, customers will be able to track their pizza via GPS as usual.

Prep, bake, oven...deer?

More information will be available on 1 December, but people are already pretty excited...

Until then, we'll leave you with a newly-butchered Christmas classic...
