Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau were asked the same question - their answers said it all.

Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau were asked the same question - their answers said it all.

On Monday, Donald Trump – conservative Republican – and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau – renowned liberal leader – finally met at the White House.

The duo spoke on a number of topics, and the US President was quick to emphasise the strength of the relationship between the two countries.

Justin Trudeau echoed his sentiments during the awkward press conference.

However, when it came to immigration, their differences showed in HD.

The duo were asked to comment on refugees and border security.

Here's what they said:

Donald Trump:

We’re actually taking people that are criminals – very very hardened criminals in some cases – with a tremendous track record of abuse and problems and we’re getting them out, and that’s what I said I would do…I’m just doing what I said I would do when we won by a very very large electoral college vote…I said we will get the criminals out, the drug lords, the gang members, we’re getting them out.

I said at the beginning we are going to get the bad ones, the really bad ones we’re getting them out. That’s exactly what we’re doing.

Justin Trudeau:

…We continue to pursue our policies of openness towards immigration, refugees without compromising security and part of the reason we have been successful in doing that over the past year, welcoming close to 40,000 Syrian refugees is because we have been coordinating with our allies, the United States and around the world, to demonstrate that security comes very seriously to us…

We'll leave you to draw your own conclusions.
