Trump said that one of America's greatest accomplishments is the 'abolition of civil rights' and the internet is losing it

Whilst speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast, Donald Trump managed to make an epic slip of the tongue when talking about 'America's greatest accomplishments.'

At the event in Washington, the President said:

Since the founding of our nation, many of our greatest strides, from gaining our independence to abolition of civil rights, to extending the vote for women, have been led by people of faith and started in prayer.

When we open our hearts to faith we fill our hearts with love.

This amazing gaffe for the POTUS didn't go unnoticed and Twitter was soon awash with reactions and jokes.

Some felt that it was a Freudian slip or a problem with the teleprompter.

Others thought that it wasn't much of a mistake at all.

Black History Month is probably the worst month he could have made a slip-up like this.

It was very Ron Burgundy.

Maybe we should cut him some slack as he's not used to working this early in the day.
