The Donald sent this tweet in 2011:

And the Department of Australia finally responded with this...

It's been liked and retweeted some 50,000 times, with some hilarious responses

Many people think it's a real Australian government account...

While it is a real tweet, there is no real Department of Australia

The blue tick confirms the handle as a verified account - but of a comedy satire initiative.

According to Department of Australia website, Leslie Nassar created the account in 2014; it's "hand-crafted, artisanal satire made from the finest Google image searches".

The account generally just pokes gentle fun at Australia...

But lately, the account has also regularly been tweeting hilarious anti-Trump material

Nassar, a games developer, producer and writer, was also revealed as the man behind the fake Stephen Conroy Twitter account, described as Australia's most famous satirist, for which he was fired from Telstra.

Eventually, people figured out that this account was fake too

But even so, it was pretty well received...

Well played, Department of Australia. Well played...
