We all know by now that Donald Trump Jr isn't the best at making jokes.

From owning himself after sharing an inaccurate Obamacare meme to failing miserably when he tried to mock Hollywood actors involved in the college bribe scandal, Trump Jr 's humour just never seems to hit the mark.

This time, the 41-year-old shared a meme (he sure loves his memes) of his father's face on a machine gun "maga-zine" on Instagram, with the caption "I can't wait to see how they react to this". Alongside his post, he wrote: "Triggered", followed by laughing emojis.

But his "joke" doesn't seem appropriate, considering it was posted on the same day as the tragic terror attack in New Zealand, which killed 49 people. Just before the shootings, a link to an 87-page manifesto with extremist messages and a cheer on mass shooters, was posted online by the killer.

In complete contrast to Trump Jr's ill-placed social media post the New Zealand government has already announced it will ban semi-automatic rifles.

Trump Jr, maybe you should just stop trying, ok?
