Donald Trump was given a taste of his own medicine by Jeb Bush and did not like it one bit

The Republican debate on Tuesday saw clashes between Jeb Bush and Donald Trump, with the former labelling Trump a "chaos candidate" for his "one-liners" and controversial policy proposing a ban on Muslims.

The two-hour debate on CNN saw Bush attack Trump's credibility, saying his attitude to foreign policy "demonstrated a lack of seriousness".

Trump defended his stance by saying America needed a "tough" leader, a statement which was interrupted by Bush:

Trump:

I think Jeb is a very nice person, but we need tough people, we need toughness, we need intelligence and we need tough. Jeb said that when they come across the southern border they come as an act of love.

Bush:

You said on September 30th that Isis was not a...

Trump:

Am I talking or are you talking, Jeb?

Bush:

I’m talking right now, I’m talking.

Trump:

You can go back Jeb. You interrupted me, are you going to apologise, Jeb?

Bush:

September 30th, you said it.

Trump:

No. Am I allowed to finish?

Bush:

A little bit of your own medicine there Donald?

Trump:

I know you’re trying to build up your energy Jeb, but it’s not working very well.

Bush later commented, to loud applause:

Donald, you’re not going to be able to insult your way to the Presidency, that’s not going to happen.
