A woman, claiming to be an 'international criminal lawyer', has been filmed going on a racist and expletive-ridden rant during an Air India flight from Mumbai to London on Saturday.
The incident was recorded by another passenger on the flight, with the spat allegedly being instigated after she was refused another glass of wine.
The woman, who is said to be an Irish national and was already intoxicated, boasted about her credentials as a lawyer and threatened staff with legal action.
A video uploaded to Twitter by journalist Tarun Shukla sees the woman berate the flight attendants and physically touch them after they refused her more alcohol because of her drunkenness.
An image uploaded Shukla also appears to show that one of the staff suffered a bruised arm as a result of the altercation.
In the footage, the woman can be heard shouting at the staff:
I am a f***ing international lawyer.
I work for all you f***ing people... The f***ing Rohingyas, the f***ing people of all Asia, for you, an international criminal lawyer.
Don't get any money for it by the way. But you won't give me a glass of wine, is that correct?
She also asks the cabin crew if they "treat all business class passengers like this?" before adding that she would have been given the wine if she was a "rich Indian f**king money grabbing b**tard".
The woman, who claims to work for 'the Palestinian people', then continues her tirade in business class where she threatens to have them shot by the Irish Republican Army.
She adds she won't be arrested at Heathrow airport before turning her rant on her fellow passengers, labelling them as "pathetic".
A passenger who was on the flight is quoted by The Sun as saying that the altercation started after she pushed a flight attendant's trolley.
The woman was seated on her seat 1-J. After gulping down few glasses of wine she went to the lavatory and burnt a smoke but unfortunately, the smoke detector didn’t set off.
She came back to her seat and gulped down some more bottle of wine and asked for more when the flight attendant refused her demands.
She threatened the attendant and pushed the trolley. It was then she turned unruly towards the flight attendant and started with the verbal spat.
She was arrested upon arrival in London. A statement from the Metropolitan Police reported that a 50-year-old woman was arrested after the flight had landed.
She was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order, common assault and drunk and disorderly and taken to a west London police station.
She was subsequently released under investigation.
Air India is yet to release a statement in regards to the incident.
