Facebook: Stranger offers to buy school supplies for struggling single mother

No matter your circumstances, raising a child, is never easy but it's especially hard for a single mother.

It's an exhausting job and even the smallest of helping hands can significantly make things less stressful for a mother in such a situation.

Recently a single mother from Florida named Billie received an unexpected amount of help from a stranger on Facebook.

The individual reached out to her after seeing some of her messages on the website and offered to buy all the school supplies that her son would need.

At first, Billie was a little cautious, but after talking to the stranger she discovered that it was for real and there was an amazing story behind the generosity.

Billie shared screenshots of their conversation on Imgur and the eventual package she received from the person.

Speaking to Bored Panda, Billie gave a little more detail on her circumstances:

My son is 7 and headed into second grade. It’s always been just me and him, so I’ve been a single mom for 7 years. I have 4 jobs and I am also a full-time student so not much time for dating, lol.

Of course, it’s difficult, it is intended to be a two person job. We honestly wouldn’t make it without family, friends, and the kindness of strangers.

She found me in a mom group, I’ve posted there for advice a few times.

After a bit of research on the woman, she decided she was ok and accepted the offer.

Now she is sharing the story in the hope of spreading more random acts of kindness.

I owe this woman so much. I hope this story helps other people want to do more kind things, just to do them.
